Great news... glad to hear it.
say something philosophical and deep so that we can all benefit from what you're going to say.

thanks everyone for the support and help.
i've enjoyed doing my project and i'm proud of myself for doing it.
i've spent a ton of time here posting and getting to know everyone and its been fun.
It's been fun.... thanks for the interesting covert operations we got to share in. Enjoy life!
osmosis and i are collaborating to put together some spoof awakes.
i've written some articles spoofing the teachings & writing style.
i think our goal is to be as humorous as possible while drawing attention to problematic stuff about wt publications.
You know, satrical humor can be very effective in opening up dead biased minds. (new light?) I would think some tongue-in-cheek, underground copies of AFAKE AWAKE magazines would spread like wildfire. .... it would at least get a few people thinking.....
my name is catherine and i live in south africa.
i am not too sure how this forum works but i hope to find it a pleasant and supportive network.. if you have any tips on how to use this, i would be grateful.. just some background:.
my mother was pregnant with me when she started studying with the jws 48 years ago and her sisters, my cousins, nieces, nephews, sister, brother, brother-in-law are all jws.
Hi Catherine. WELCOME Aboard !
i was thinking about the wtbs this weekend as i mowed my lawn.
they have taken so much from my family in the form of money and most importantly time, that i have developed a hatred for them.. as i cut the grass, burning gasoline and contaminating the air, i realized that the watchtower is loosing ground.
fortunatly for my family my mother married a worldly man.
Darth...it's late....why are we up?.....
Some of my best reasoning comes when I've mowed the lawn. You're one of the lucky ones. goodnight zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
my dallas stars are out of the playoffs in the first round .
waaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh
Damn.
Hello there: I don't think the spirit sleeps either. But does the 'spirit' have personality?I think our soul does, have all our memories and thoughts..and sleeps at death.
In Vs. 5...the spirit given to us is God's spirit.
In Vs. 6... Paul talks against being 'at home' in our bodies. Why? Because our bodies are of the fallen flesh and inclined toward sin.
In Vs. 8...Paul talks that we would rather be at home with God, than, at home in our imperfect bodies.
In Vs. 9...Paul talks that whether we are able to ignore our imperfect flesh desires or not, may we be accepted by him.
Sorry, but I'm not understanding how this scripture is saying, we don't sleep at death?
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is so simple....sometimes people try to overthink things (I know, it's just different interpretations). The Jews during Jesus' time believed that the soul return to God upon death (except for the Sagacees). In fact, they thought the soul/spirit of man hung around the body for three days before going to be with God. That's why when Mary and Martha sent for Jesus upon Lazarus' illness/death, he waited and didn't go to them immediately. And there was a reason. The other instances where he raised the dead were within a few hours of when the person expired. Raising Lazarus 3 days after his death dispelled any notion that the previous miracles might not have been miracles in that the person might not have really been dead.
Regarding Pauls statements.... they are clear.... death is no big deal... whether we are here in this life, we are away from God and we must live by faith.... BUT, if we die, it's more preferrable....sure, we are absent from the body (this life), but we are present with God.
